The total capacity of the cylinder washing process at the three filling stations (Amman, Irbid, Zarqa) reaches 2,800 cylinders per hour.
 

Al-Bashayerah: The new unit in Zarqa comes as part of a series of updates to ensure the highest levels of efficiency and reliability in its services.

As part of its ongoing efforts to improve operational efficiency and ensure product safety, the Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company announced the inauguration of a new unit for washing, cleaning, and sterilizing gas cylinders at the Zarqa gas filling station. This step completes what was previously inaugurated at the gas filling station in Amman, in addition to the installation of another cylinder washing unit at the Salahuddin/Irbid gas station.
This step was announced during a special tour organized by the company for journalists at its site in Zarqa, where they were able to closely observe the washing process and learn about the modern technologies used. This unit boasts a production capacity of up to 700 cylinders per hour, reflecting the company's ability to meet increasing demand while maintaining high quality standards. Thus, the total capacity for washing cylinders at the three gas filling stations in (Amman, Irbid, Zarqa/the site) reaches 2,800 cylinders per hour, with currently (4) washing machines available at the three stations, including (2) machines at the Amman gas station, one at the Irbid gas station, and one at the Zarqa/the site gas station.

The spokesperson for the Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company, Haider Al-Bashayerah, affirmed that the introduction of the new unit is part of a series of updates and developments undertaken by the company to ensure the highest levels of efficiency and reliability in its services, confirming its pioneering role in the energy sector in the Kingdom. He noted that the inauguration of the new unit followed the success of the unit operating at the Amman gas station.
Al-Bashayerah emphasized the company's commitment to continuous updating and development as part of its strategy, affirming that gas cylinders are a major activity of the company and a basic commodity for citizens. He added that the company pays great attention to ensuring high reliability and safety by verifying the quality of cylinders and the safety of valves, and ensuring there are no defects in the cylinders. During the tour, journalists were informed about the steps the company takes to rehabilitate LPG cylinders that need rehabilitation in the repair and rehabilitation workshop for gas cylinders, which includes pressure testing the cylinder, cleaning it internally with steam, repairing the base ring and valve guard ring of the cylinder, installing a new valve, cleaning the external surface of the cylinders by metal shot blasting, painting the cylinders from the outside, weighing the cylinder, and printing the empty weight on the body of the cylinder.

Furthermore, Al-Bashayerah announced the filling of about (32) million gas cylinders since the beginning of the year to date, noting that the average daily consumption of gas quantities recorded (1,200) tons. Al-Bashayerah stated that the company increased its stock of LPG to the maximum storage capacity at the three gas filling stations in Amman, Zarqa, and Irbid by transferring quantities of stored LPG from its warehouses in Aqaba by land using local tanker trucks and issuing a tender to import (350) thousand tons of LPG with the possibility of increasing the quantity by (25%). These quantities are being transferred from Aqaba to the three gas stations, to cover the Kingdom's needs for this material until the end of April 2024, a quantity sufficient to fill (28) million cylinders. These tenders are part of the company's plan to ensure ample LPG stocks, which are in higher demand, especially during winter and low-pressure weather systems. In this context, the company, through the Jordanian Company for Manufacturing and Filling LPG (fully owned by the Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company), contracted to rent additional storage capacities for LPG, amounting to (6) thousand tons, which were completely filled.
Also, about (250) thousand empty cylinders were supplied, which the company had contracted to purchase to cover the needs of consumers and owners of gas warehouses and agencies throughout the Kingdom, as well as to replace cylinders that need to be scrapped and removed from circulation.
He pointed out that the production capacity for filling gas cylinders at the three stations in Amman, Irbid, and Zarqa reaches about 250,000 cylinders daily.
Regarding the number of new Jopetrol cylinders sold during the year 2023, it reached (100) thousand gas cylinders, and the number of valves replaced was about (460) thousand valves during the year 2023, noting that the number of cylinders repaired, rehabilitated, and painted in the repair and rehabilitation workshop during the year 2023 reached (160) thousand cylinders. Thus, the total number of gas cylinders withdrawn from service over the past years is more than one and a half million cylinders.
Al-Bashayerah stated that the three LPG filling stations owned in Amman, Zarqa, and Irbid are operating at full capacity and readiness to meet all orders received throughout the day for filling cylinders with LPG, with a capacity exceeding a quarter of a million cylinders daily.
