Energy Minister Visits Zarqa Refinery and Reviews the Latest Expansion Developments



In a move reflecting the growing interest in the development of the energy sector in the Kingdom, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, conducted a field visit to the Jordanian Petroleum Refinery in Zarqa Governorate on Saturday, October 14th, 2023. He was received by the company's CEO, Engineer Abdul Karim Al-Allawin.

During the visit, several main topics were discussed, including the latest developments of the fourth expansion project aimed at increasing production capacity and improving the quality of products.

The Minister was also briefed on the latest statistics related to the inventory of petroleum derivatives and liquefied gas, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a sufficient strategic stock of various petroleum derivatives.

Minister Al-Kharabsheh praised the efforts made by the various teams of the company, considering that the Jordanian Petroleum Refinery plays a vital role in enhancing the national economy and the energy security of the Kingdom.

Engineer Al-Allawin provided a historical overview of the Jordanian Petroleum Refinery company and the projects it has undertaken since its inception, which have contributed to improving operational efficiency, safety, and increased production volumes. He affirmed the refinery's continuous commitment to developing and modernizing its facilities and the technology used. He emphasized the company's dedication to employing the latest methods and techniques to ensure high efficiency in production.

He added: "The strength of the company lies in its qualified and trained staff, of whom we are proud. They work diligently to achieve excellence in all their operations. The company believes in the importance of continuous investment in training and developing its employees to ensure the best services are offered to the local market."
